A nine-story brick and limestone building from 1902, halfway down the block between Sixth Avenue and Seventh Avenue, with a black iron balcony over the door and a red awning that reads 129. Seventy-nine rooms, every one with its own bathroom, an elevator, and a front desk that is staffed around the clock.

Two years before Times Square got its name
History
A century of hospitality on West 46th Street.
The building went up in 1902, two years before the square at the end of the block was renamed Times Square and the Theater District began to gather around it. West 46th Street filled with Broadway houses in the decades that followed, and this block has spent more than a century in hospitality: welcoming people who came to Midtown for a season, a run, or a job. The 46 continues that use in its plainest form, as a place to live for a summer, a semester, or a year.

Nine stories, top to bottom.
Common spaces are on the lower levels; the rooms are stacked above them, with the Premier King rooms on the upper floors. One elevator serves every floor.

The largest rooms in the building, with a king bed and a separate sitting area, on the highest residential floors.

Cozy Queen, Classic Queen and Deluxe Queen rooms
The main run of the building: furnished rooms with a private bathroom in each, served by the elevator. Quieter as you go up and away from the street.

Lower levels
Lobby, lounge, study room, fitness room
The front desk and lobby at street level, with the resident lounge and coffee bar, the work and study room and the fitness room on the lower levels. Luggage and package storage sit behind the desk.
